Yeezy Set to Crash – Excuse Me, Perform at – VMAs

12 Aug

There’s no need to rehash Kanye West’s merciless destruction of teen idol Taylor Swift’s Best Female Video award acceptance. And yet check this tweet out:

Just met with MTV and it’s about to go down! VMA’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh boy. Let’s quickly review a timeline of Yeezy’s drama via MTV.com:

  • November 14, 2oo4: At the 32nd Annual American Music Awards, Gretchen Wilson wins the award for Best New Artist.  Needless to say, Kanye West is not happy.  “I felt like I was definitely robbed, and I refused to give any politically correct bullsh–ass comment,” he explained.  “I was the best new artist this year.” He goes on to suggest the possibility of a massive conspiracy against him, questions the judging process, and vows never to return to the AMAs. More to come.
  • February 15, 2005: Kanye at the Grammys: “A lot of people were wondering what I was going to do if I didn’t win anything … I guess we’ll never know.” He’s not humble.
  • December 4, 2005: Kanye gives an interview to MTV in which he declares that it will be a “real problem” if Late Registration doesn’t win album of the year and yet anticipates that it won’t due to some comments he made about George W. Bush during a Hurricane Katrina telethon. The man then shits on magazines like The Source and The Vibe for not classifying his albums as “classic” and boasts about the $600,000 of pocket dough he spent on Registration production and promotion. Oh, and he compares himself to Tom Cruise, of all people.
  • November 2, 2005: At the MTV Europe Music Awards his “Touch the Sky” clip lost to Justice and Simian’s “We Are Your Friends.” Kanye was not a happy camper. He interrupted their acceptance speech (kind of his thing) with the classic argument that his video “cost a million dollars and Pamela Anderson was in it.”
  • 2007 MTV VMAs: West’s “Stronger” loses and he threatens to “never return to MTV.”

What the hell is he going to pull this year? It’s almost like MTV is just asking him to come back and pull some crazy shit. Give the people what they want, Kanye. How about a live, butt-naked performance of the “Power” vid?

Holla at us with some Yeezy Bullshit predictions in the comments below.
