Rebecca Black’s Friday — An In-Depth Analysis

16 Mar

At this point, you’ve all undoubtedly seen or heard about this song/video from superstar Rebecca Black who has taken the internet by storm with her new hit single “Friday” feat. A Random Black Guy That No One Knows.  We’ve taken it upon ourselves here at WTR to break the song down second-by-second so we can see what all the hype really is about:

0:16 – 0:35:  Thanks, Rebecca for giving us an absurdly in-depth runthrough of your morning routine.  None of us were aware what it feels like to wake up in the morning and think “I need to go downstairs.” Your song really clears everything up.

0:35 – 0:45:  How do your 13 year old friends drive? And more importantly, how do they have Benz’s? Why are the two people in the back seat not wearing seatbelts? “Gotta make my mind up, which seat do I take?” Oh yeah! Really hard choice!!! One seat left? WHICH ONE DO YOU TAKE!? Beats me.

0:45 — 1:09: “Gotta get down on Friday”? What exactly do you mean by that, Ms. Black? I know that you and your pre-pubescent friends are not sexually active.  At least I sure hope not.  FUN FUN FUN FUN!

0:10 — 1:40: You may be driving on the highway at 7:45 but I can assure you that each one of you would have fallen out of the back of the car and been killed by 7:46 if you actually sat on the back of the car like that.  Just sayin’. FUN FUN FUN, THINK ABOUT FUN! “You know what it is” You’re right…I do know what fun is. Thanks for reminding me.  Also — how the fuck have you not figured out which seat to take? You’re already sitting down…Is your friend really by your right? I wasn’t aware.

1:40 — 2:05: I don’t know about you, but I’m still confused by the fact that all of your infantile friends have cars.  One of your friends literally looks like she just fell out of the womb.

2:05 — 2:30: Wow! You know how to read a calendar, Rebecca! I’m impressed. I’ve got a brain buster for you: How many days are there in February?

2:30 — 2:50: WOAH!? WHO THE FUCK IS THAT!? “So chillin in the front side, in the back seat, I’m driving cruising.” Isn’t it dangerous to drive while chillin in the back seat? There seem to be a lot of hazardous driving conditions in this video. Also, please never rap about driving next to a school bus again.

2:50 — The end: Well…you said “Friday” 10 times in less than a minute.  I guess that’s an accomplishment.

Is Rebecca Black destined for stardom? (If your first thought was yes, you probably are/were/will be a pedophile.) Or is “Friday” the worst song ever recorded? Let us know in the comments.

When she says Friday she sounds more nasally than Lois Griffin from Family Guy. Also when she says Friday and Partying and other things 13 year olds should not be doing like driving cars, I imagine Chris Brown beating the shit out of her.
